This girl is one we are waiting to kid along with Sarah. Cocoa is a full blood nubian but not registered. The is the best kind of goat, because she was given to be by a friend. She loves animal crackers. I need a new picture of her. She has dropped so much her tummy is close to the ground. The dog, Strike, would like a cookie too.

And then there is...
Texie is the one we are milking now. She belongs to a friend so I guess you would say she is on loan.
The white one is Sarah. She is a full blood registered Sannan. She was struck with mastitis last season so she has one side that is messed up and won't produce milk.

A new delivery. Nope, not a goat.
He was born about 3 weeks ago I think. He spent a week with his mama and then she was sent to the sale. I guess he went 2 weeks with out milk and now we are trying to get him to drink a little goat milk from a pail. I gave him full strengh goat milk this morning but he didn't take to it too well so this afternoon, I offered half water and half gm. I don't know how that will work. He is eating food so he won't starve.
I told my son we were going to name him Roast and my husband said we could name him Supper. J doesn't know yet what he really is going to be. I guess the sooner I tell him, the better.
J wants to call him Thunder
Hello Patty. And all the kids. :)

Good bye Candy. :(
Candy was my first milk goat and she was a good one. She was a little on the wild side but was good on the table most of the time and she had good milk! She will be missed by me.
She had mastitis last milk season and lost one side of her udder. It just wasn't logical to keep her if I wasn't going to milk her. I have others to milk now and one will be her daughter, Holly. Hopefully she will have as good a milk as her mama.
Candy is due with kids in December and I hope to get to see them. She has had twins the last few years and I don't expect any different this year.

Marina
Here we are milking Marina. She is a half Nubian and half Alpine registered goat. She does NOT like kids! She runs from them. She did pretty good with J milking her though.
We have dried her up and she is now bred to a registered full blood nubian named Rex. Hopefully she will have a doe and it will be registered as 3/4 nubian.
This is Marina from the front. Love those ears.
And this is Rex when he was little.

Howdy from the goat farm

First of all, I want to say, "I am not an expert milker". LOL. I am starting this blog to keep up with our goats care, and learn as much as I can about them.
My friend Deborah and I have several milk goats and sometimes keeping up with what is going on is a lot of work. I live here with the goats and Deb lives a few blocks from me.
We have several breeds. I will introduce them later. Right now, I need to go throw some feed.
